Benjamin Seelaus

Ben Seelaus is the Chief Risk Officer for Seelaus Asset Management, LLC, having joined the firm as a Managing Director in October 2014. Mr. Seelaus spent the first 10 years of his career as a market maker and trader of U.S. Government Bonds for several firms including JP Morgan and HSBC. Just prior to joining Seelaus, Mr. Seelaus was a Managing Director and Head of U.S. Government Bond Trading for Morgan Stanley.
In January 2015, Mr. Seelaus stepped into the role of COO for the firm in an attempt to better coordinate its various business initiatives. Additionally, his experience in cross-market, macro trading made him uniquely qualified to take on the additional responsibility of overseeing firm risk and risk positions. Mr. Seelaus grew up in Summit, attended Seton Hall Prep, and earned a bachelor’s degree in History from Princeton University. In addition, he is on the board of Columbia Children’s Health. Mr. Seelaus holds Series 4, 7, 17, 24, 63 and 66 Licenses.
