R. Seelaus & Co., LLC Continues its Expansion in US Agency Coverage with Participation in the Fannie Mae ACCESS Program

January 27, 2020

R. Seelaus & Co., LLC has added another key counterparty to its roster in the US Agency market with its acceptance into Fannie Mae's ACCESS program. Fannie Mae uses this program to interact, trade and open a dialogue with selected diverse securities dealers. Seelaus is proud to be added to the established group and joins eighteen of its diversity counterparts in the program.

"This is yet another step in the right direction for our firm as we continue to position ourselves as a key counterparty across markets," said CEO Annie Seelaus. "One of our main goals heading into 2020 is establishing Seelaus as a valued counterparty in the US Agency primary and secondary markets and this approval opens the firm up to another level of success." She went on to add "I am so grateful to Fannie Mae and others for recognizing the impact of diversity and inclusion in the markets. Important programs such as the ACCESS program can really move the needle for women-owned firms and by extension, women across financial markets."

"The Agencies are a natural point of interaction for our firm and our clients" added COO Ben Seelaus. "We have already enjoyed a lot of firm 'wins' in the short time that we have been open and trading with the Federal Home Loan Banks and the opportunity with Fannie Mae should only further that momentum."

Seelaus has been a dealer for over thirty-five years and was only certified as an MWBE five years ago. Co-Head of Debt Capital Markets, Leslie Graves added "As the firm built and delivered on its mandate in the diversity space, the Agencies were a natural place for us to focus our efforts. See la us shares many of the same goals of the Fannie Mae ACCESS program and it is my hope that the synergies provided by the partnership will help grow the diversity landscape in the markets and help Seelaus build a stronger on-ramp for women back into the workforce."

Seelaus is excited for the opportunity to work directly with Fannie Mae and plans to continue its expansion across markets.
