Jim O’Mealia

Head of Equity Portfolio Management, Seelaus Asset Management

Jim joined the firm in 2017, when Seelaus Asset Management purchased Sunnymeath Asset Management, an equity-focused RIA of which he was founder and President.  Prior to founding Sunnymeath, he served as a manager of the Multi-Cap product for ICC Capital before its acquisition by Highland Capital.  He previously served as the Vice CIO of Fox Asset Management where he managed institutional equity, balanced and fixed income accounts and was a member of the firm’s Investment and Management Committees. 

He previously served as a consultant to IBJ Schroder Bank & Trust. At McGlinn Capital Management, he was Chief Operating Officer and served as a manager of the firm’s equity and high yield investments and directed the firm’s research effort.  Prior to that, he was the Vice President in charge of New York Life Insurance Company’s public equity and high yield investments and was directly responsible for the management of public mutual funds and insurance company assets  Jim began his career as an analyst for Argus Research where he covered a variety of industries.

Jim holds a BA degree with majors in English and Economics from St. Lawrence University.
